This is a surprising read with quotes on the left-hand side of the page, and the text on the right-hand side of the page. This book is brimming with suggestions, hundreds of quotes (yes, the book is 599 pages, so that’s ummm about 300 quotes!), and humor about overcoming negative thinking. The format was distracting because I would stop and read each quote before moving on. Then I stopped and read all the quotes, marked the ones I liked and then continued reading the rest of the book on the right-hand side.
“Positive thoughts yield positive results—loving, caring, sharing, health, wealth, and happiness, prosperity, and abundance. Negative thoughts bring negative results—dislike, indifference and withholding, dis-ease, poverty and misery, fear, lack and alienation. Our thoughts, in other words, create our physical reality eventually. Where we put our vision—our inner vision—is the direction we tend to go. That’s our desire.”
“Service, as we define it here, is the art of taking such good care of yourself that you cannot help but take good care of others. When you fill yourself with love, happiness, and compassion, the desire to share the overflow of these with others is automatic. Those who have given to others and found it depleting have not taken the time to give fully to themselves first. Always give to yourself unconditionally, the overflow will always be more than enough.”
